ART EXHIBITION APRIL 2017

ONCE AGAIN THE TIME HAD COME FOR OUR ANNUAL EXHIBITION, THIS YEAR WE HAD GLORIOUS SUNSHINE AND A WONDERFUL LARGE CROWD OF PEOPLE ATTENDING THE PRIVATE VIEW ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

WE HAD 100 DIFFERENT ARTISTS EXHIBITING THEIR WORK OF A HIGH STANDARD WHICH MADE IT ALL THE MORE DIFFICULT TO VOTE FOR A FAVOURITE PICTURE.,WHICH ITS ALWAYS A SUBJECTIVE VIEW.THE DISPLAY WAS VERY VARIED AND COVERED ALL MEDIUMS MAKING A VERY INTERESTING SHOW OF PAINTINGS.

THIS YEAR WE ALSO HAD THE MAYOR IN ATTENDANCE WHO WAS PLEASENTLY SURPRISED BY THE PICTURES AND THE LARGE CROWD, AND HE FOUND IT MOST DIFFUCULT TO SELECT ONE PICTURE TO VOTE FOR.

A BIG THANK YOU TO THE HELPERS ON THE DAY AND OF COURSE TO THE ARTISTS FOR THEIR PICTURES MAKING ANOTHER GREAT EXHIBITION.

THE FAVOURITE PAINTINGS WERE AS FOLLOWS,

MAYORS CHOICE

1st STUDY IN GREY BY GILL AIKENS IN WATERCOLOUR

2nd MY KIND OF GARDEN BY AUDREY JONES IN ACRYLIC

PRIVATE VIEW CHOICE

1st  CORNISH VILLAGE BY DAVID BARLOW IN PEN

2nd A SPLASH OF COLOUR BY SANDRA LEE IN PEN, WASH & TWIG

PUBLIC CHOICE

1st CORNISH VILLAGE BY DAVID BARLOW IN PEN

2nd STONEAGE BY VALERIE OBRYAN IN PENCIL

DURING THE WEEK WE HAD OVER 700 VISTORS, WITH SOME RETURNING A COUPLE OF TIMES TO VIEW AGAIN AS THERE WAS SUCH A LOT TO TAKE IN ON ONE VISIT.EVERYONE WAS FULL OF PRAISE FOR THE SHOW AND EVEN THE MAYOR POPPED BACK IN AGAIN.THE VOTING WAS VERY CLOSE WITH THE VOTES TOTALLY SPREAD ACROSS THE BOARD, BUT WELL DONE TO EVERYONE AND LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEARS SHOW.
